In one of the articles that I have read, the author cited five reasons why boy bestfriends are the greatest. I'd like to dissect each one, putting in them my own thoughts..my own perspective.

1. They make you laugh. So true. And this I know based on my experience since my bestfriend happens to be a boy. He is the funniest person I know, always ready to make silly remarks that will bring tears to my eyes because of mirth. His childlike mischief and sense of humor takes all the blues away. We can talk for hours and still have a good laugh.

2. They are the sweetest when you cry. I know of no man who can withstand a woman's tears. As my bestfriend succinctly puts it, anger he can take but tears makes him feel like a fool and a scum. It's such a sight to see him unsure and loss his aura of confidence whenever he is confronted with tears.He will slay dragons for you if only to make you feel better.

3.They beg when you are mad at them. Ah, I think it's but natural for them to do so. After all, as bestfriends, you practically know everything about him. Besides, aside from his family, who would put up with his worst moods? Who would do his schoolwork, pass on that stenchy love letter to his crush, hear his endless tirade about how unfair and lousy girls can be just because the girl of his dreams broke his heart? No one but his bestfriend would do that for him.

4. They protect you. Oh yeah! Funny thing about is he can be overly-protective, much more than a father even. A knee-length skirt is too short, he has to know your whereabouts and who you're with, and he checks on every guy who takes notice. And let's not forget how chivalrous he becomes when someone else hurts you. He can tease you no end until you get mad, then, he'll just laugh over it, but when someone else makes you angry, he'll defend you as if it's his own personal battle.

5. They can fall in love with you. Now, here's comes the hard part. More often than not, it is the girl who falls first. Why not? After all, with the attention and the time he spends on us, it's more likely that we tend to get ideas. Good if both of tyou feels the same way, but what if it's a one-side love? I mean he loves you, no doubt about it. You are friends and friends love each other.But what if it's just a platonic kind of love? Can you live through it?

Let's reverse the scenario, what if he falls for you and you didn't? How can you tell without hurting him that you just want to be friends, nothing more? It would be pretty awkward, indeed.

Say you become a couple. What if it doesn't work out between you? Are you ready to lose not only your man but your bestfriend altogether?

Now, is a boy bestfriend still the greatest? Definitely. The fifth reason may or may not happen but at the end of the day, what is important is you meet a person who make you whole and who accepts you for being you, without judgment, without questions,who feels happy when your dreams come true.The essence of friendship is not the smile and gestures that we give but a feeling when you discover that someone believed in you and is willing to trust you.
